also have built in AgION Antimicrobial Protection.
AgION Antimicrobial Protection is proven to be very effective in preventing
the growth of a broad range of bacteria, mold and mildew. Manufactured from
fine-grain carbon steel and have a Rockwell Hardness rating of 62.

Blades
are even further optimized with a titanium carbonitride coating increasing
its overall surface hardness, making them the longest wear resistance blade
Oster offers.
This coating also protects blades from scratching and rusting--last longer
than regular steel blades. Elite blades have a Rockwell Hardness rating of
82+.
